We’re Getting Married

Kevin and I met just weeks after his return to SC thanks to a dating app. Yup I lost a bet and had to do one and sooo worth it! From that first message the conversations, laughs, and random things in common drew us together and made it nearly impossible to put down our phones. From waking to falling asleep we talked about everything and found we shared similar stories and struggles in our lives. After days of talking and feeling that kindred spirit connection we had to meet. From that first meeting to today, we’ve been inseparable. Despite fears, insecurities, and past hurts making both weary about ever getting serious again, there was just no denying that soul deep bond. We even swore we didn’t want anything serious that first night, yet neither could even consider stopping what was happening between us. we’ve overcome it all and found our way to our happily ever after. It’s not always been easy, and we’ve learned so much on our journey, but we are so excited to spend our lives giving all of ourselves to our marriage and our family.

Kev recruited the kids in helping him keep me distracted and in getting me to the right location. Evelyn hid the ring in her purse and even added some teenage attitude to keep me distracted. He took all of us up to his parents house and then the kids insisted on taking a walk in the field. Weeks prior Jess got her first buck in that area and it’s always been a place both loved to go and just walk/have that piece and quite. Sky ran around singing Christmas carols to distract herself so she didn’t spill the beans and as we all walked further back to that special spot Kevin came over to Jess and started talking about how much he loved the family we’ve built and life together we’ve shared and created. At one point he stopped and pulled Jess to stop and shocked her completely by getting down on one knee. Their were a lot of tears and a lot of kids jumping up and down, and it was truly perfect. That spot had been special to them both for some time but including the kids and getting their approval beforehand made it truly magical.
