We knew of each other from college. He was friends with people I was friends with. So we knew of each other but we had never formally met. THEN, on April 3, 2018, I was invited to come to a new bar named Pilikia. I went looking like a raggedy sack of potatoes with a huge sweat shirt, camo jeans and a freshly bald blonde-ish head. Obviously not thinking I’m gonna meet my husband then and there. Kevin was there with a trench coat on and his infamous loafers. His haircut was fresh. Dressed to the nine per usual. We recognized each other and spoke and gave greeting hugs. After the greet though, Kevin couldn’t keep his hands off me. He kept wanting to touch my hair and tell me how he likes it. Everytime I looked up he was looking at me smiling. Obviously obsessed. Love at first sight for him. Before I left, he asked for my snapchat info and I gave it to him. For a while, at first, we acted as friends. We spoke as friends. We hungout as friends. Until one day, Kevin said he wanted to ‘make a clone of me and date the clone as to not mess up the friendship. But I told him that he could just date me because clones always turn out weird and evil. And I was so comfortable with him from building our friendship and he of course was always attractive to me, so I took a leap. Our first real date was at Kung Fu and we just flourished from there. Then, for Kevin's birthday, his mom and sister had the plan to throw him a surprise birthday party. I 'helped' planned the whole thing. I brought him to the party where he was successfully 'surprised until the end where a powerpoint slide show showed me the real surprise. Starting with his baby pictures, progressing through his growth over the years to pictures of him and I. The slideshow ended with a shocking proposal. In absolute shock and confusion, I turn around to see this beautiful man on one knee with a box in his hand. And I said 'yes'. And dassit. A love story.
