Kevin and Callie both moved to Richmond, Virginia in June 2016 to start full time jobs at SigEp Headquarters. They immediately hit it off after a beer league kickball game and made plans to explore all of RVA's best restaurants and breweries the following months. It wasn't long until Kev and Cal were spending nearly everyday together, trying new recipes in the kitchen, playing indoor soccer with friends, exploring hiking routes in Virginia, and adventuring around their new home.

Over the last five years, Kevin and Callie racked up countless miles running around RVA. They could often be found in their running gear immediately after work and welcomed many weekends with a long run around Byrd park on Saturday mornings. Together, they trained for and completed handfuls of races and they fell in love their new hobby while falling in love with one another. So it was only fitting that the couple would cross another of life's milestones in their running shoes and Kevin devised a plan to propose to Callie during the RVA Half Marathon in the fall of 2020. Under the guise of checking out the course conditions ahead of the race, Kevin convinced Callie they should drive out to the Capital Trail for one of their training runs. Little did Callie know, Kevin was scoping out the course for the perfect place to pop the question. On race day, Kevin was waiting for Callie at the 12.6 mile mark and proposed! They ran the remaining half mile of the race together, newly engaged, and were greeted by friends at the finish line.
