💜How We Met💜

Back in 2013, Carlos moved to the same apartment complex as Keturah in Plantersville, Ms. As the days went by, we did nothing but wave at each other while passing, nothing major. Soon after, those waves turned into small conversations still nothing major. Although it is safe to say we both liked each other at this point. Keturah would often visit his home church with some of her family members. I must say I will never forget one Sunday the doors of the church opened and as the usher was letting the people who were standing in the foyer in, Carlos walked in as well. My heart skipped a beat, but I didn’t let him know. While the word was going forward I couldn’t help but feel someone staring at me, so I immediately looked and there he was as my grandad would say gazing at me. I thought it was kinda cute though! He immediately gave me the what’s up head nod. I remember leaning over whispering to my sister Shauntina “I really like him.” As the months went by, we finally started hanging out. Spending time with each other was always in our plans no matter what. After all the conversations, hugs, forehead kisses, playing like children at times pushed us even closer. One day I drove to the Sprint Mart store and stumbled across James Montgomery. I remember telling him “ayee tell ya boy I love him” he stood there grinning from ear to ear. Yelling “bet, bet I’m sholl gone tell cuz!” I must say I couldn’t get my vehicle in reverse good. Carlos was calling me. As soon as I said hello, he immediately said “what you tell James?” I said boy what are you talking about, him again “what you tell him”? I said “nothing!” Carlos would not drop it for anything in the world! He asked a couple of more times, I finally said “I told him I love you!” Carlos does a little chuckle then instantly cuts it off and says, “Oh really?” I said “yea, boy!” After that year on Jan 2, 2014, we started dating and have managed to remain together ever since.

💜Proposal💜

On Dec 25, 2019 as usual I went to my mom house in Shannon for Christmas. Before leaving to head to her house I asked Carlos was he riding along with me or driving. He went on to say he was driving, gave me a forehead and I was on my way. After hours of being at her house playing spades with the fam, Carlos and Kyreon arrived. He sat down and played spades as well. As time went on I decided to take a break from winning so many games. Leaving him and other family members in one room as I headed to grab more red velvet cake in the kitchen. As I returned Carlos began to tell me how in love he is with me and shared many other things. Then shortly after he asked while pulling a ring box from his pocket. "Sweetheart will you be my wife?" I felt butterflies all over and of course I said YES!!💜
