Our story began on a sunny afternoon at ThePark, a lively restaurant and bar in DC, surrounded by friends and family celebrating a special occasion. I was celebrating my graduation from the illustrious Morgan State University School of Nursing. And he was celebrating a friend’s graduation. Amid the laughter and cheers, we noticed each other across the room—there was an undeniable spark. We exchanged shy glances that seemed to last forever, each one igniting a sense of excitement and curiosity. As the day went on, our eyes kept meeting, drawing us closer without a single word. When it was finally time to leave, he walked up to me, his smile warm and inviting. With a confident charm, he invited me and my friends to join him and his friends at another event, which led to exchanging numbers.
