Kerry and I first matched on Hinge on Aug 21, 2023. This was also the first time I messaged a guy first on there after matching. He was just so intriguing LOL. I was in Starbucks studying for my boards in which I was taking in 5 days. At this moment, when we were chatting on the app, I instantly knew I needed to get his number. I remember saying "Do you have instagram, also what's your number." We ended up texting right away. At the time, we haven't talked on the phone yet at all. A couple of days go by, many text exchanges, and many pictures of our dogs sent later, we decided to hop on a phone call. Never did I think I would feel this giddy talking to someone, but I was sitting on the step in front of my mom's house talking to Kerry. He was honest about his life, his family, and his job. We talked on the phone for hours that night. By the time I looked down at my phone it was 4am, and I had to be up early to study because it was the day before boards. I told him that after I am done with boards, I will be on vacation with my family and wouldn't be able to see him until 09/02. The night I was finished with taking my boards, I went to a cookout and got severely drunk, needless to say I needed to leave to go to the airport at 6:30 am to fly out to Bahamas. At this time it was 12 am, and Kerry was concerned about me taking an Uber at this time to go home, so he drove from NY all the way to PA (took 2.5 hours) to pick me up, drop me off at my mom's house that was 30 minutes away and drove back home. This whole trip took about 6 hours give or take and I couldn't have been more impressed by his actions. He is a man of his words, and that I will cherish forever. When I returned from my vacation, I fell ill shortly after. We were supposed to hang out the night I returned but I couldn't make it out of bed. The next morning, I went to drive back to my apartment in Jersey City and hung out with him for 2 whole days. Yup, you saw it right, we spent every minute together talking and getting to know each other for those two days. We had our first date at Mitsuwa Marketplace in Edgewater, had bubble tea at ÜMacha and spent the rest of the night playing card games. The next couple of days were a blur, he would drive 2 hours to come see me in Jersey and then drive over an hour to get to work in the morning. Fast forward, and I knew he was the one from buying me flowers unexpectedly because he knew I loved them, to make sure I was cared for every minute of every day. I remember the very moment meeting Tina like it was just yesterday. We had matched on Hinge and our conversation started right away. In just a few messages, Tina had asked me for my Instagram handle and phone number! Of course first thought comes to mind, she's investigating! Safe to assume she likes what she sees because our conversations started flowing right away. Each day we would chat about our daily routine and always wished each other a good day. Few days later, she has an important test at school and I told her to not stress and that she was going to pass it with flying colors. Later that night, she tells me she is going to a party with Dalena. I know she wanted to have fun especially right after that test. I remember mentioning to her to have fun, be safe, and I will be here. At one point during the party, she tells me she needs to lay down and sober up before going home. Instantly, I felt that she may be in trouble. I knew she had to leave home at a certain time to be able to catch her flight to Bahama trip with her family. Trying to be the gentleman I am, I asked her to stay put, drink water, and I'll be right there. Of course she declines not once, but twice. I promised her I would not judge her for being intoxicated and that I just want her to get home safely. Tina says yes and thank me then sent me the address to the house. I put the address into Google Map and started my three hour drive. I arrive to the address and texted her where I was parked. I stand by the car and waited for her. She comes over to me and we said our first "hi." She had this huge smile and allowed me to open the door for her. I smiled and got into the driver's seat. She puts in her mom's address and we start our first drive. 35 minute drive and I figure it would be a great time to chat and continue our conversations. She may have had a few to many drink and was giggly during the drive. I let her close her eyes to nap till we get to her mom's house. We arrive and I walk over to her side to open her door. She comes out, thanks me, and gave me a hug. I waited for her to get into the house and got into the car. I waved out of my window as she waved at the door. I make my way back to NYC and right when I got onto the highway, I thought to myself, I hope I get to see her again soon. I felt like I really wanted to get to know Tina more. She calls me every hour to check in on me as she's getting ready to leave the house. I arrive at home and she starts her vacation with her family. We continue to talk and get to know each other more through phone calls, text, and FaceTime. We planned to meet for our first date the day she gets back. She gets back and told me she wasn't feeling so good and that we should reschedule. I thought I didn't give her such a great first impression. We continue to talk through the day and she started to feel better so we rescheduled for the next day. Next day comes and I pick her up from her apartment in Jersey City to go to Mitsuwa Marketplace. We ordered our noodles and a corn dog. She tells me "hey, let's share this." Woah! We're sharing already? I bit into that corn dog right after she did lol. From there we walked to get bubble tea to satisfy her cravings. We grabbed some snacks and made our way back to her apartment. Once I walked into the door, I get greeted by Emory! Wagging her tail uncontrollably as I pet her. We sat on the couch and started talking. We shared a lot together and were very straight forward. Tina and I played a card game and really had a great time. We blinked our eye and it was already 4:00am! I immediately felt such a perfect click with Tina and so glad we got along so well. We both agreed that we were on the same page together and we would be transparent about everything. I started to like Tina a lot just from our first date. I am so happy that we have met, I love everything about you. I love you so much Tina Ngoc Tran
