Wedding Party

Roberto Preciado

Groom

I couldn’t be happier to be marrying the love of my life.

Kerry Udo

Bride

David Socha

Officiant

David and Roberto were best of friends in Kindergarten. Ok, not really, they were in the same class though. Their lives went separate ways only for the two to reunite in High School where David and Berto were both in NJROTC and began to both do theatre (with their 3rd amigo, Billy). With Berto’s Mexican Angel voice and comedic talent, Billy’s suaveness and leading roles and David’s... ummmmm.... Davidness, these three amigos began a friendship you could only read about (in comic books). David went to UC Santa Cruz for undergrad and then New York City for graduate school. Berto followed David to Santa Cruz and then NYC because Berto can’t live without him. Not exactly true, because Berto met Kerry at UCSC and she is the one he can’t live without.

William Robert McCoy

Best Man

A long time ago, in the kingdom of Monterey, California, teenagers met at a high school. To the average person, it was just three guys named Billy, Berto, and David who enjoyed video games and theater quickly becoming friends. Little did the world know, this friendship would transcend the perils of time and distance and grow into something much more. The winds of fate have brought these three men together once again to celebrate, drink, and unleash their awesomeness for all who bear witness. Are you ready??

Derek Shore

Groomsman

I met Berto through David when he came for a tour of UCSC. Shortly after he started class, we started hanging out and nerd-raging like an old married couple. We were even roommates in New York for a while. I give Berto credit for landing us this awesome apartment with the power of song. Then he brought this random chick to come live with us. I remembered meeting her maybe once or twice in Santa Cruz, but now she's going to share a tiny bathroom with 4 dudes? (Bless Kerry!) She turned out to be an awesome addition to our motley crew, and we spent many a late night drunkenly debating nonsense since! Berto even helped us move when we left NYC! #GoodGuyBerto

Groomsman

Berto, when I first met you I barely had earned the teen in teenager. Since then we've shared a lot whether it be late nights playing Deadlands, fun times in the theater and doing Miss Dianne's camp. Since then you've been my ace and my brother. Kerry I met while y'all were in Santa Cruz and we had plenty of good times as well playing boardgames and even arguing about video games in your podcast. You guys have been the best and I'm so happy for the both of you.

Groomsman

How we met. Berto was at work, and I was like, "Who dat?" and you were really cool, so we decided to play video games. Then we did. Kerry was there. I love you both forever now

Grant Patrizio

Groomsman

I met Berto and Kerry during my freshman year at UCSC. Berto was the director of The Mortician, and we quickly bonded over such fantastical things as: Street Fighter, Hey, Arnold!, and looking really weird (read: really awesome) when we get our pictures taken while shaking our faces in front of the camera. I'm sure Kerry thought it was absolutely ridiculous back then, and I'm sure we bonded over it in some way, but all I know is that we've been fast friends through it all.

Taylr Jesinger

Matron of Honor

To be honest, I can’t remember when I first met Kerry because I forget that we’re technically not related. Kerry is family to me - the kind that has always been there. Theoretically, we first met as kids over 20 years ago in the South Bay Children's Choir where we spent our youth singing and up to shenanigans between rehearsal breaks and the many hours waiting for our moms to stop chatting after practices. We attended Aikido class where she took me down with a simple wrist hold. We spent years being the silly sisters as we helped at our brothers’ Boy Scout functions. No matter the situation, boredom was non-existent as long as I had Kerry. She’s like a sis to me, and I am incredibly proud of her and all her accomplishments. I am honored to help celebrate this very special day.

Liv Scott

Maid of Honor

I can’t remember how I met Kerry but I still vividly remember when we became friends. She is a part of my family, a part that without her would be heartbreakingly incomplete. Somehow, she’s put up with me, and we spent the next 18+ years sharing shenanigans on rehearsal breaks, my jokes about her being short despite us being the same height, midnight crises, adventures, and being ridiculous (at times overly-dramatic) sisters and friends. No matter what, Kerry has always been there for me, and I’ve never laughed as hard as I do as with her. She’s the sister I never had, and a critical part of making me the woman I am today. I’m so proud of her and her accomplishments and growth. Thank you for allowing me to help celebrate this day with you, lady.

Kayt Ahnberg

Bridesmaid

Kerry and Kayt first bonded during the college Dining Hall Experience at UC Santa Cruz, when they were still young enough to be really excited by a never ending supply of dorm french fries. They soon realized that there was no one else in the world they'd rather share a 9x11 foot room with, building a friendship predicated on a love of musical theatre, nerd pursuits, and personal space. As far as college roommates go, Kayt considers herself the luckiest winner of the friendship lottery, and is almost as happy to take the blame for introducing Kerry and Berto as she is to be attending their wedding.

Suzzanna Javed

Bridesmaid

I met Kerry at Teachers College, Columbia University. We have spent some memorable crazy moments. I tease her that we are like "Harold and Kumar". I hope you don't have to guess which one is Kumar. She is a phenomenal friend who has the magic of alleviating anxiety. Just one knock on my head. Love her so much! Can't wait to see her in the Wedding gown. Wishing Kerry and Berto a very prosperous future. "Shaadi Mubarak"

Susie Dicker

Bridesmaid

To be honest, I no longer remember a time when I didn’t know Berto and Kerry, so here goes: It was a dark July night when I met Berto. We had become co-workers in a well-lit glass cube. I’m pretty sure he greeted me with “Huzzah!” and there was probably lots of singing, jokes, and talk of an alien Doctor with two hearts and a blue box. It was awesome. Soon after, I met Kerry. She and I instantly bonded over Broadway, books, and a boy wizard with a scar. I became a regular guest at their house as I humorously, ruthlessly, and finally learned to play “The Walking Dead” video game. Our friendship was cemented over our love of all things Marvel & Disney, as well as hysterical games of Cards Against Humanity. I’m so glad I can’t remember my life before them.
