Kerry and Derek met on Match.com in October, 2020. After messaging for about two weeks, they decided to meet in person at Bourbon & BBQ in Speedway. Kerry entered the restaurant to see Derek, towering over the others in line. "You're tall!" she said, and hugged him. They ate dinner and talked and laughed for hours. Though Derek thought Kerry blew him off at the end of the night (which they immediately realized was a miscommunication), they continued to talk and laugh together every day since then! They love having adventures together and with Aidan, whether at home or at Lake Michigan... the pumpkin patch... or anywhere they are together as a family :) They feel so lucky to have found each other and be to create a life together filled with happiness and love.

It was Derek's 40th birthday party that Kerry had been planning for him for months. She rented an Airbnb in Broad Ripple, Indiana for the special event and invited some of their closest family and friends. Towards the end of the party, Derek asked Kerry to go in the backyard with him, and then he popped down on one knee and asked her the big question! She said yes, of course! They went back inside and announced the good news to everyone with a toast.
