There's plenty to do on Main Street in Manayunk! There are some cute shops (The Little Apple), coffee shops (Volo Cofeehouse) and so many great restaurants along the half-mile strip. A must-go is Winnie's Le Bus for breakfast (They have THE best cornbread!)
Minutes from Manayunk, the Wissahickon Trail offers dozens of hiking and biking paths. We recommend the "Forbidden Drive" trail, which is much less scary than it sounds. It also leads you to the Valley Green Inn, a somewhat hidden restaurant in the middle of the woods!
Philly has a pretty bustling brewery scene, with more popping up what seems like every second. Aside from our wedding venue, some of our other favorite breweries include: Dock Street Brewery West: This is where Kerry took Zach on their first Philadelphia date! Tired Hands Fermentaria: Home to many of our favorite beers, Zach will forever be searching for "Experiment #8" to return to the tap. Really, you cannot go wrong with any of their beers! Evil Genius: With beer flavors as odd as their names, Evil Genius mixes it up with their Purple Monkey Dishwasher Porter, Ma! The Meatloaf Ale, Bye Felicia IPA, and Jack Could Have Easily Fit On That Raft, Rose Saison. Forest and Main: If you feel like having the best grilled cheese of your life, and quality beer to match, head to Ambler for this farmhouse-turned-brewery spot!
This is Kerry and Zach's go to spot for any special occasion dinner. It also happens to be where Zach proposed to Kerry in December 2018. The upstairs "Dog Bar" is the perfect place to grab a cocktail while waiting for dinner, or head across the street to TRIA for a glass of wine and their white bean dip. End the evening with a nice stroll through Rittenhouse Square Park. If you're sticking around later on Sunday, Dandelion hosts a classic English Afternoon Tea.
Come for the Rocky steps - stay for the art. If you enjoy running or biking, Kelly Drive surrounds the Art Museum and is a great exercise path.
Reading Terminal Market is a one stop shop for everything authentically Philly. Get there early to enjoy Beiler's fresh donuts. Once you work that off, make sure to grab a DiNic's Roast Pork Sandwich (voted Best Sandwich in America in 2013).
Kerry offers zero insight on this particular topic, but Zach can shed some light. He recommends skipping the super-touristy spots like Pat's and Geno's and making a choice between D'Allessandro's or Jim's. We recognize this is a highly debated and often a quite sensitive topic for Philly natives, so if you would like to weigh in and offer your must-have pick, let us know!
