It's a great spot for a leisurely walk and some light shopping. You can often find us at the Level One Game Shop on a Sunday morning perusing for the next best two-person game!

Tyler's favorite bbq! Formally "Oklahoma Joes", A Kansas City BBQ classic that lives up to the hype. Joe’s started in a gas station—and the original location still is one—serving up award-winning ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and the famous Z-Man sandwich. It's casual, iconic, and always worth the wait. If you're craving a true taste of KC barbecue, this is the place to go. The original location is about a 10 minute drive from the Hotel- make sure to factor in a wait in line!

Eileen's favorite bbq! Gates Bar-B-Q is a Kansas City institution, serving up legendary barbecue since 1946. Known for its signature red-roofed buildings and the enthusiastic greeting, “Hi, may I help you?” Gates offers a classic KC BBQ experience with a menu featuring tender ribs, juicy burnt ends, and their famous tangy sauce. For the true experience make sure to add a mini pie to your order!

Jack Stack Barbecue - Freight House

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

Art Museum located east of the country club plaza. The Nelson is a great way to spend the afternoon whether you're going into the museum, eating lunch at the Rozelle Court, or walking around the front lawn. In the summer The Nelson offers their art course mini golf, a nine hole mini golf course inspired by different works of art in the museum. We recommend reserving a tee-time before going!
