Technically, we met in 2012 but due to us entertaining other individuals we decided to pass each other on by until and old friend of mine months later in February of 2013 decided we would be the perfect match for each other. Joe definetly wanted to talk to me first because all I wanted to be was INDEPENDENT and do my own thing. That old friend gave Joe my number without my permission and the rest is history. As much as I wanted to not like him, I couldn’t resist. We began officially dating May 17, 2013. I literally prayed for a man like this and God finally brought him my way. It wasn’t always peaches and cream but here we are today happy and getting ready to become one.

Everyone knows that I, the bride, had been waiting for this moment to come for at least 5 years. I would ask Joe and even put a deadline on him. None of that mattered because he was going at his own pace and not mine. One thing I can say is a man knows when he is ready and I am thankful Joe did it when he was. It was Sunday, April 25, 2021 and it was a regular day except for family was coming to our home to meet up and the plan was to take them and introduce them to one of our new favorite brunch spots. Yes, that was true but there was a little change in that plan. As the family started to come over we all decided to “pre-game” with mimosas before brunch. Once everyone was there my future mother-in-law wanted everyone to do a toast to me. A few days before that I had just received a promotion on my job so the plan was for everyone to toast to me about my accomplishment. We went around the circle and people began to speak. The last person to speak was Joe. Let me tell you, that man has a way with his words and he had me drawn into what he was saying, so drawn in that I didn’t even realize my sisters were recording already. Before I knew it, the time had come. Joe got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Full of joy, happiness, and tears I SAID YES! I just couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the ring. I was excited to know that I finally get to marry the man of my dreams. Afterwards we went to brunch and enjoyed celebrating with our family!
