Kyle went to Wilkes University and found a friend in his next door neighbor (Andrew!). Andrew just so happened to be from Mountville, PA which is literally 10 minutes from our house! They had never met before but quickly became best friends. This may sound like Kyle's story, but here's where I come in. When Andrew and I met, I was immediately interested but decided against it because he was my brother's roommate! Well, a year or so later Andrew and I got to chatting and I decided it was time to make a move. With Kyle's reluctant permission, Andrew and I went on our first date in summer of 2016. We spent about 5 hours together that evening and we both knew we wanted to see each other again! Oops sorry Kyle! There was something so different about Andrew that I could already feel from the first date. The more we got to know each other, the more we liked! The rest of course, is history
When I first met Kerri I thought she was cute, but Kyle was my best friend so I didn’t really think any more of it. I honestly never thought about it again after that. Once Kerri and I started chatting more, I was very conflicted. I felt weird about being interested in Kyle’s sister because I valued my friendship with Kyle too much. Kerri (being who she is) pushed for us to go on a date, and I (being who I am) gave in. I decided that Kerri was cool enough that it could be fun. We had a great first date! We had a long first date because we just had so much to talk about and we were having fun! I thought she was easy to talk to, and cool, and I wanted to see her again. Our personalities match really well, and we always have a lot of fun together and now we get to have fun together forever!
Well, as you know I absolutely LOVE snow. As a winter baby, I feel it is just in our nature to love the snowy blankets that occasionally drape across the fields of Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the snow this year was quite literally absent. However, we planned a trip to a cabin in New York to ride snowmobile, my favorite winter activity. Northrup’s cabin is a cabin that my family has been going to since I was 1 year old. It is my home-away-from-home and I have more fond memories there than I could count. I was elated to get to go back again this year! Little did I know, Andrew was planning to propose here! Kyle, Lisa, Tanner, Aspen, and of course Andrew and I were riding snowmobile in woodsy trails when we came across a bridge cresting over an icy stream. Andrew told me that he knew this was the place. He rushed back to the cabin to get the ring, while I was oblivious to the plans. We ended up going to take a picture on the bridge. Before I knew it, he knelt to one knee in front of me. On this snowy bridge I heard him ask “Will you marry me” and of course I said YES!
