Gratitude

We are overwhelmingly grateful to God, and the family and friends that he surrounded us with. For your guidance, your hearts, your shoulders and your arms over the years we say thank you! We hope you can share in our joy to come.

How we met

14 October 2018

If our life were a novella it would open with flashbacks, from childhood up to December 2016, displaying a series of almosts: we both came from the same region, attended the same karate class as children, and always remained at two to three degrees of separation through to adulthood. Many potentials but never a meeting. As fate would have it the first time we do meet, it's online and DJ is in Germany. What may be apt for the reader was irony for us, as we felt like long lost friends from the outset. The reader would be led to believe we were meant for each other, then ambushed with angst when there are no romantic sparks and our relationship doomed to the platonic graveyard. From there sprang thorns of a sort of romantic isolation all too familiar to the centuries of love stories past: DJ hears a small voice that whispers this is her husband to be, but it seems it isn't to be at this time and keeps it to herself. Indeed the voice seems to fade just as the time difference fades the friendship. We meet the fall of 2018, the second in-person meeting, and in contrast to the prior, something was different. There was a spiritual magnetism that made us inseparable...we had finally found that elusive thing, that indescribable thing that everyone yearns for.
