Wildside Tour
This exclusive tour gives you the opportunity to interact with Animal Management specialists to see the Wilds at work. Each experience will vary day-to-day, depending on what program work is taking place at the time of the Wildside Tour. One day you might observe Conservation Medicine staff conducting a medical procedure; or feed the giraffes with our animal management staff. Tours are approximately 2+ hours long and include plenty of time in pasture to see rare and endangered species in their open-range habitat, and learn directly about our programs from your Animal Management guide.
Open-air Safari Tour
Board an Open-Air Safari for The Wilds' most popular experience. Knowledgeable guides will take you through open-range animal areas, where you'll see rhinos, giraffes and many other rare and endangered animals roaming in large, natural settings. Explore, learn, and relax while you observe the wildlife around you. Discover the Wilds from an open-air vehicle and the amazing animals you’ll encounter. This tour includes stops at Lake Trail and the Carnivore Center. Open-Air Safari tours are approximately 2+ hours long.
Zipline Safari Tour
The Wilds' Zipline Safari Tour offers various unprecedented, untamed, "flight-seeing" expeditions that will have you overlooking endangered animals. Fly over herds of Sichuan takins basking in the sun and Père David's deer grazing around pasture. These are just a couple of the unique animal encounters you may experience. These professionally-guided zip line eco-tours are perfect for adventure seeking individuals. This tour consists of 10 breathtaking ziplines and a rappel built on a series of observation platforms in and around The Wilds' animal pastures. This tour is designed to thrill anyone with a love for wildlife and a passion for adventure. Don't miss this incredible, first of its kind, outdoor experience during your visit to The Wilds!
Secrets of the Zoo Wildside Tour
Join us for this special variation of a Wildside Tour led by one of our Animal Management team members who appear on the hit Nat Geo WILD TV series, Secrets of the Zoo. Take a tour with one of these Animal Management team members as they make their rounds throughout our pasture areas. You might help Curt take a head count of our Bactrian deer, see Albert the Sichuan takin with Courtney, be introduced to our resident giraffe herd by Adam or drive among our herd of southern white rhinos with Rhino Guy, Cody. Show staff leading tours varies daily. Requests for certain individuals to lead tours are not available.
Fishing Safari
Create memorable moments by fishing at The Wilds. Unwind on the water by casting out into one of our tranquil lakes, surrounded by rolling hills of grasslands and forests. Our lakes and ponds provide serenity from their remote and tranquil locations, and excitement with the search for a large catch. All fishing at The Wilds is catch and release. An Ohio Fishing License is required for all participants. Reservations are required at least 3 days in advance. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Life jackets must be worn on the excursion - standard sizes are available, but guests may bring their own. We recommend comfortable footwear and casual clothing (dress for the weather), as there will be some walking. Closed-toe shoes required.
Horseback Safari
Horseback Safari tours are for guests who love wildlife and are looking for a new adventure. These rides take guests on a journey along the beautiful landscapes of The Wilds overlooking our rolling hills, grasslands and butterfly habitat. You may have an opportunity to view animal species roaming in large natural settings. Tours are approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in length where the view of our breathtaking landscapes and safari areas are amazing. Both novice and experienced riders will enjoy this unique ride! Before or after your Horseback Safari, enjoy a visit to The Wilds’ Gift Market and Overlook Café or stroll though the Wilds’ Butterfly Habitat.
