Once upon a time in college, two students crossed paths while figuring out life, finals, and everything in between never imagining that the universe was quietly writing a much longer love story for them. Life eventually sent them in different directions, filled with growth, adventures, and a few plot twists… but fate wasn’t done yet. Years later, a simple reunion with friends one day in April turned into a spark neither of them expected. By June 2023, what was supposed to be a casual coffee hangout “as friends” turned into something much more. On June 24, 2023, at the Long Beach Pike, they went on what they later realized was their very first date. They walked, laughed, and talked for hours proof that love was already in the air (and that Abel had impressive stamina after hiking Mt. Baldy earlier that day with his good friend Maria). The weeks that followed were filled with late conversations, a few dates here and there, and the unmistakable feeling that this was something special. Before making it official, they each took one last solo adventure Kerlin traveled to Ireland with her travel buddies Emily and Sarah, while Abel explored Spain on his own. When they returned, the timing was finally right. On August 25, 2023, Abel asked Kerlin to be his girlfriend and the rest started falling perfectly into place. One year later, on Christmas Eve, surrounded by love, laughter, and family, Abel asked Kerlin to be his wife. (Cue happy tears and lots of hugs.) Since then, they’ve become homeowners, travel buddies, partners in every sense of the word, and best friends preparing for their biggest adventure yet. Now, with hearts full and love all around, they can’t wait to celebrate, dance, and say “I do” with all of you.
