Our story begins in March of 2014. Both Kerianne and I were eager to serve on the Welcome Week Crew at Oklahoma Baptist University, and we had to complete an interview to join. Kerianne was waiting for her interview and I happened to be the next person in line. I sat down beside her and while we waited we began a conversation that brought us to the realization that we both loved lighting design. I was already working as the designer at Raley Chapel and had been searching for a partner. I was impressed with what I had heard from this freshman, and on the spot offered her a job. This led to three years of working side by side in Raley Chapel. We formed a deep friendship that lasted through college and we became each other's best friend. Over time, both of us started to realize that this friendship was the perfect basis for a lifetime relationship. On May 29, 2017, a special connection began built on our love for each other and most importantly, our faith in God. This new relationship budded and grew over a year and half, even though we had an ocean between us. During Christmas break of 2018, I flew to the United Arab Emirates to see Kerianne. We returned together to the United States, and on December 22, I took Kerianne to the Botanical Gardens in Kansas City. While walking her through the lighted gardens, I stopped on a footbridge, knelt down, and asked for her hand in marriage. We both are excited for this new chapter of our lives as we serve the Lord wherever He leads us.
