Travel Note
Get your passports ready! Fly to Cancun and then either take a taxi or the small busses from the airport down to Tulum. A rental car isn’t needed- there’s plenty of busses, taxis and small trucks to get around Tulum, but if you do rent a car you’ll be able to explore more on your own.

Travel Note
Ado ticket counter is in the transportation section at the airport as you exit after baggage. This set up is the same in most airports around the world. Exit/Baggage/Transportation. Ado counter is open morning till late at night. The Ado buses take cash if you don't have a ticket. There is a Super Shuttle counter as well and it goes straight to Tulum. It's around $30 USD. You can also get a mini van with other people it's around $120 USD and you can split with other riders usually 7-10 people. Just ask people when you go towards the bus "anyone want to split a van to Tulum" and you'll get takers. Alternatively you can take an Ado bus to Playa Ado bus station and around the corner from he station there are tons of Collectivos going to Tulum for 40 pesos. There are lots of taxis that will take you directly, but expect to pay around $150 USD.
