How do two people that grew up on the opposite sides of the country (most literally) meet and fall in love? Well this isn't the beginning to a bad bar joke... we met online of course, where else do late 20-somethings, in a new city that work way to much meet?! We would like to consider ourselves a match.com success story in the making. She was in California visiting the family for Mother's day and received her first message from her Miami Marine. First strike - he was a Gator fan. Now being a FSU Seminole for a year, I know this is already looking bad (at least that's what my coworkers and new friends told me). But, he was nice, sweet, and put up with her crazy horse nonsense. After exchanging numbers and talking nonstop for a week the Miami Marine and California Cowgirl finally met and went on their first date. Olive Garden and Guardian of the Galaxy 2. Pasta and a Marvel Movie, okay he gets brownie points. They both clicked and have been inseparable since!
The ring is very special to the both of them, the center diamond is her mother's engagement diamond that she gave to him. Her mother gave him the diamond sometime around when he asked her father for her hand in marriage (an age old tradition that she was so excited to have him do!). Since she knew he had a center diamond and the approval for marriage, now she just had to wait for him to get the ring and pop the quesiton. Well Keri is not great at waiting (haha)! Justin is not a planner, not sure if he has planned more than a few things. Justin planned a weekend down to Universal Studios in Orlando (she had never been), so Keri (and her friends in the office had their suspicions of his intentions). Well the weekend was WONDERFUL, but the question was never popped. She texted her friends with sad faces and said, "I guess not this weekend, headed home". The couple got home and grabbed some dinner out after the 4 hour trip home. She was thinking, this was the LAST CHANCE she'd have for him to propose this weekend. Nope! Keri was at home unpacking her toiletries.. yes you read that right, IN THE BATHROOM, and Justin is talking to her telling her he loves her, blah blah blah. Being a bit pouty and inpatient she wasn't really looking at him, next thing you know she looked over and he is on one knee popping the question. Keri was in full shock! After a second of staring at the ring and him, and how sneaky he was, of course she said YES!!!! He said he'd surprise her and that he surely did.
