The actual wedding is dressy casual! The rest is whatever you find comfortable at the lake or exploring the area.
There will be a dessert table with a cake, cupcakes, and cookies. Ahmed's mom, aunt, and grandmother are making Moroccan food for the reception. We will try to have finger foods like fruits as snacks. There are fire pits for grilling if you want to grill something. There is a kitchen, also, if you need to make yourself something to eat. Everyone is welcome to the kitchen when it's not in use. Just please clean up after yourselves!
We will have options that are gluten free, vegan, and/or halal. If you have a dietary concern, please let us know!
Yes! Just let us know so we can have enough food for them!
Please RSVP by August 1st!!!
You can actually arrive as early as Friday at 3:00 PM to enjoy the lake and nature trails! I would like people to be cleaned up, dressed, and ready starting around 5 pm on Saturday. It's not a very formal event, so the ceremony may start a little earlier or later than 6:15. The house has air conditioning, television, and food that you can enjoy leading up to the start of the ceremony.
Yes! Just please limit it to one* date and let us know before hand! (Some exceptions may be considered.)
We recommend AirBnB! Also, on the wedding website, I included hotels in the area on the Travel page.
We don't really have any. We're not investing in many single-use decorations. We would rather invest in the venue and food! However, we do enjoy silver, turquoise, and coral.
Fun at the lake! We don't like long, drawn out ceremonies and we're not interested in a lot of the traditions (bouquet toss, garter toss, cake smash, rehearsal dinner, first dance, "giving away" of the bride - she's not property!, changing last names, excessive decorations, fancy linens, limos, religious elements, human flower children and ring bearers, bridesmaids, groomsmen, getaway car, grand entrance, etc), so we are leaving them out! We just want everyone to have a fun vacation.
Yes! Check out our registry page for links to our Amazon registry and our Zola registry. Because we don't have room for traditional gifts, contributions toward the wedding would be the most amazing gifts for us! See the Zola registry for more information about how you can help with the wedding!
Everything is going to be at our AirBnB! https://abnb.me/k3z82CCjwY (Guests have received the address) Medicine Park, OK 73557, United States
There's some parking, but we encourage car pooling when possible!
The brief ceremony will be outside unless the weather is bad or too hot. Everything else is inside and outside, wherever you want to be!
Sure thing! Just share with everyone else if lots of people need to get ready.
The rules of our venue prohibit smoking on the property.
We will limit alcohol to wine and beer. We will provide wine. You are free to bring beer if that's what you enjoy at the lake! Please no hard liquor and please practice moderation. We don't want drunk people bumping into everything!
Yes, PLEASE do! A photographer wasn't in our budget, so your candid pictures will mean so much to us! Please send them to us after the wedding so we can treasure them!
Please tag your posts and pictures on social media with #KeriAndAhmedWed so we can easily retrieve it!
Yes! Oui! The ceremony will be done in English and in French. Ahmed's family is from Morocco and they speak French and Arabic. We want them to be able to understand and enjoy the ceremony with everyone else!
A band and a DJ are out of our budget. We will probably play music through speakers from our phones. If you have a playlist you want to share, feel free! We will have a mixture of American and Moroccan music.
You can bring a bottle of wine. folding chairs, and snacks if you want to help out!
We anticipate somewhere between 30-50 people.
Gosh no! We love all of you. There's no reason to divide everyone. We're not all that traditional! Sit or stand where you please. Maybe short people should be in the front for standing activities, but that's just because it's unfair for them to be behind a bunch of giants!!!
I hope you do! We wanted a vacation destination wedding in Oklahoma. This is your vacation, too! Bring your swimsuits, motor boats, coolers, and SPF and make it a super fun weekend!
WE'RE NOT! Please don't ask this question. PLEASE. It's rude.
We have to checkout by 11:00 AM on Sunday. We thought it would be fun to go to brunch with whoever is still around and maybe explore the area before returning to life as usual. Feel free to join us!
