We met in out "First Year Seminar" class at Marian University. We didn't talk much at first. Then we realized we had "Speech" class together too, made it easier to memorize each others schedules. Sometime during our first semester of freshmen year Nick tried to get my number, but I didn't realize it and ignored it. The next semester we didn't have any classes, but somehow he remembered my schedule before I remembered my own. We hung out more with friends and talked over social media, until that one faithful day. Nick had never been to the Indianapolis Zoo, and I had a membership, so I took him. We had a blast! Some feelings showed while we where walking around. I didn't hear from him for about 2 weeks, and then one day I get a message asking to meet him over in the music building. I agreed and went over there after band practice in the theater. He was a babbling mess. But on April 1, 2016. People ask me all the time how I knew he wasn't joking. Like I said he was a babbling mess, no person who would joke about it would be like that.
One of our friends needed to go to the zoo for a paper she needed to write for her science class. Nick and I said we would go with her as long as she agreed to take some pictures for us. So we dressed up nice, met up with her and another friend and left for the zoo. We walked around and Nick was a little on edge. Me being the person I am I just thought it was him getting nervous because there where a lot of people. We walked behind the gardens area down to the picnic area. We took some pictures, and Nick starts whispering in me ear. It was so sweet. He talked about how great his life was with me, and how if it wasn't for me who knows where he would be. He gets down on one knee and pops the question. And the rest is history. Can't wait to see you in Indy
