Waimea Canyon, known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” is located on the west side of Kauai and was formed by ancient volcanic activity and erosion over time. One of our favorite local coffee ships on the island. Wishing Well Coffee in Hanalei, Kauai is a laid-back local favorite that truly lives by the “slow yourself down” philosophy. Known for its organic coffee, cold brews, and refreshing treats, many drinks are served in signature glass jars — and you get to keep the glass for free as a little island souvenir!
Hanalei Pier sits at the edge of Hanalei Bay on Kauai’s North Shore and is a beloved landmark that connects the community to the ocean. Originally built for shipping and fishing, the pier is now a gathering place for locals and visitors to fish, surf, swim, and watch sunsets with the dramatic green mountains as a backdrop. The North Shore itself is significant for its rich Hawaiian history, lush landscapes, and powerful winter surf, making Hanalei Bay and Pier a true symbol of Kauai’s natural beauty and laid-back island life.
Tunnels Beach is known for its breathtaking beauty, calm waters, and strong sense of reverence. It is also a place of profound testimony. In 2003, professional surfer Bethany Hamilton was attacked here—an event that became not a story of tragedy, but of extraordinary faith, resilience, and forgiveness. Her journey has since inspired millions and stands as a reminder of God’s presence even in life’s most unexpected moments. Today, Tunnels Beach remains a place of reflection, strength, and quiet beauty.
Poʻipu Beach is one of Kauaʻi’s most popular beaches, known for its gentle waves, great snorkeling, and beautiful sand. It’s a spot where visitors often see Hawaiian sea turtles and monk seals resting along the shore. The beach also offers good conditions for surfing, especially for beginners and intermediate surfers, making it a favorite for both families and water enthusiasts.
Shipwrecks Beach, known for its dramatic cliffs and cinematic moments in Six Days, Seven Nights, pairs its film legacy with a history shaped by the sea. This beautiful shoreline evokes both the enduring power of the ocean and the timeless allure of Kauaʻi’s landscapes.
One of our favorite things to do on the Island - Kauai’s stunning Napali Coast on an open-air raft, exploring towering cliffs, hidden sea caves, and cascading waterfalls. A tour that shares Hawaiian history and legends, while spotting iconic spots where films like Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribbean were shot. It also includes snorkeling with gentle Hawaiian green sea turtles, and discover vibrant coral reefs in secluded coves.
