We’re getting Married!

We met by chance online. Once we began communicating we would text and talk daily. We did this for two months before meeting in person. The first time we went out to dinner was like hanging out with my best friend. We still had conversations daily that would last until early morning. During that time there was a speed bump that almost derailed our friendship. The speed bump didn’t last long. During my trip to Las Vegas in May 2022 I woke up to a song, “Reflection” that was sent to me by Charles. I felt the same as some of the lyrics in the song. Of course, I had to ask him if he was trying to express how he was feeling through the song. I wanted to be sure. When I returned home we continued to go strong. June 19th, 2022 we decided we were ready to move forward with our relationship and we have been a team ever since.

May 2023 while vacationing in Panama City Beach, FL, our lives changed. On May 23, the day began as usual with everyone in the house up and moving around except Charles 😄. Once he decided to wake up ( we were cooking breakfast upstairs) he didn’t seem to be in a good mood. In fact, he snapped at me, walked out the house, and then he went and sat on the dock and listened to gospel music. Once breakfast was done I walked down to let him know. Once we finished our breakfast, the entire family decided to have a beach day. What I didn’t know was that my brother and sister-in-law had gone earlier to find the “perfect spot” on the beach. Once we arrived at the beach we all settled in and then went into the water. It was beautiful!! In the midst of enjoying the day, the sky began to get darker and darker. I noticed that one by one everyone started leaving the water until it was just my sister-in-law and I left. Charles later waves for me to come over so I make my way out of the water. When I get to the beach he drops his towel and I say to him, “ Why’d you put your towel there? It’s gonna get wet.” I didn’t see the little black box he had in his hand. I didn’t see it until he got down on one knee, lol. Once I realized what was happening, the shock took over and I dropped to the ground. I was overjoyed and in a state of shock. It took me a few minutes but I regained my composure and then said “YES”.
