HOW WE MET

September 25th, 2021 at the Delta Saloon

ā€œIs it too soon to say I love you?ā€ He asked. ā€œIs it too soon to say it back?ā€ She replied. Those two sentences will forever be etched into our minds from the day we met. Scott was on a guys trip for the annual Street Vibrations Motorcycle Rally in Reno/Virginia City, NV. Kenzie was with her best friend and her parents at the same time, in the same place. Told from Kenzie’s perspective… I went up to VC with my best gal pal and we were going to meet up with my parents. My mom was running late (which she never is), so my friend and I decided to get a beer from the Delta Saloon. We walked in and immediately got cat called by Scott’s friend, Adam. He was trying to get Scott to buy us beers. Neither Scott or I were interested in this idea so I sassily told Adam, ā€œI have my own money thank you.ā€ Scott wouldn’t even turn around from the bar to look at us šŸ˜‚ anyone who knows Adam knows he’s a character and hard to ignore. We eventually gave in and started talking to him. Finally after several minutes of bantering with Adam, Scott turned around. I saw his bright blue eyes and his drop dead gorgeous smile and I said, ā€œYou know, on second thought I think I forgot my wallet. I will take that beer.ā€ And the rest is history! Told from Scott’s Perspective… I was heading up to Reno for street vibrations with a few of my friends for a motorcycle show. We were having a great time at the bike show and took a ride up to Virginia city on Saturday. It’s a small town so parking was crazy and our group got split up. My buddy Adam and myself found spots right across the Delta Saloon. Before we could even order a drink, Adam is already talking to a couple girls trying to convince them to let ME buy them a drink…. I didn’t even turn around. I kept listening and it didn’t seem like the ladies wanted anything to do with us lol. But finally I turned around and this is where the story changes and I decide the beers are on me!! This is the moment I met Kenzie. We were together talking and joking for no more than 5 minutes and she says, ā€œAre you ready to meet my dad?ā€Sarcastically I say, ā€œYes!ā€ (Assuming it was a joke) and I also say, ā€œIs it too soon to say I love you?ā€ And she replied, ā€œIs it too soon to say it back?ā€ To my surprise Kenz and her friend were actually meeting up with Kenzie’s parents. So I’ve known Mary and Dave as long as I’ve known Kenz. We spent the rest of the afternoon taking pictures and having a good time, even eating sandwiches Mary brought out of the trunk of their car! We decided to meet back up in Reno later that night. My group was having dinner but I had to see Kenz before. So I met her and her friend at a wine bar in downtown Reno and we shared a drink. I left my debit card with her and told her wanted to buy them dinner (knowing that I would have to get it back at some point that night)! After dinner we met back up and spent the rest of the trip together. You could not get us apart! Sadly on Sunday it came to an end and we had to say goodbye. I was riding to South Lake Tahoe for my little sister’s 21st birthday. I was having a great time and ended up drinking to much. I told my mom and sister that I had met a girl! I was head over heels from the start. Once the birthday weekend was over, instead of going home I decided to ride back to Reno to see kenz one more time. I had never experienced a connection like that before. This was the beginning of a ton of driving back and forth from the Bay Area to Reno to see each other and I wouldn’t take back a single mile.
