Nic and I met back in 2011 but didn't get together until 2016. We met in college through a mutual friend (Nic's best man, Kevin). We hung out most weekends for 5 years, with me always considering Nic one of my best guy friends. My feelings for him started to change and, luckily for me, he felt the same! We went on our first date on 3/2/2016 and the rest is history!
With Nic and I having the same friends group, all of our vacations together were always friends trips. After two years of dating, we figured it was finally time to take a vacation just me and him! We decided on Ft Lauderdale, FL, where his family has a beautiful house a block away from the beach. We had the whole house (pool included!) to ourselves. We spent the first day on the beach and later went out to dinner at El Vez, a Mexican restaurant with outdoor seating and an ocean view. We enjoyed happy hour margaritas and a delicious dinner, and while I thought we were going to stay out a bit later, Nic mentioned that since we had an early flight we should head back to the house to catch up on some sleep. We got back to the house and I opened the door to see a living room covered in candles and rose petals! Nic got down on one knee, gave a beautiful speech, and asked me to marry him. I, of course, said yes and we got to spend the rest of our vacation celebrating our engagement!
Nic and I are both city people, so decided that a downtown wedding would be perfect for us! We loved the atmosphere of Cambria Suites, especially with it being right next to PPG Paints Arena. We decided on having our ceremony at Calvary United Methodist Church in the North Side of Pittsburgh. We couldn't say no to the stunning Tiffany windows, the beautiful sanctuary, and the relaxed nature of the Reverend who is committed to making our ceremony exactly how we want it! We are so excited to get both of our families and all of our friends together to celebrate us becoming husband and wife!
