In 2016, my sister and I moved to pacific beach, just a few blocks from the beach. What I didn’t know moving into my new home is that my next door neighbor would soon become my forever home, my fiancé. Almost immediately upon moving in, Luis and I met and became the best of friends. From going out in PB, to Pokémon Go “hunting” parties, our friendship slowly developed and grew into a love that neither of us had ever known before. Since then, we have spent the past 4 1/2 years learning more about each other everyday. We cannot wait to start this new chapter together surrounded by the people we love the most!
Our proposal was another thing that almost caught us by surprise. During the COVID 19 pandemic, Luis and I realized that even through so much uncertainty, nothing could stop us from having fun together and always turning to one another for love and comfort. That said, Luis decided that it was time to make it official. At first, he wanted to propose at the beach on an unassuming Sunday but last minute decided to have it at Kate Sessions park. Ironically, since no one had anything to do because of the pandemic, it seemed as though all of San Diego was there enjoying the nice weather and hanging out. With the help of some friends, Luis set up the perfect engagement spot and proposed to Kenzie to a riot of cheers from the park. It wasn’t what we imagined but everything we are both so grateful for now. We got engaged to the BEST round of applause.
