Kenzie & Joey

Wedding Party

Ali Bache

Maid of Honor

Kenzie's Best Friend Ali and I’s friendship has been years in the making. We first crossed paths running together in middle school—me in eighth grade and her in sixth—initially just teammates sharing a sport. Even through high school, it wasn’t until a sleepover before cross country sectionals during her sophomore year and my senior year that everything shifted. That night marked the start of a friendship that has become one of the most constant and meaningful in my life. We stayed close through every major season. We carried cross country and track into college, even sharing a meet together, and navigated my time at Indiana Wesleyan University, her senior year cut short by COVID, and her transition to Hope University. Even when our colleges were four hours apart, we prioritized time together, making sleepovers and long conversations a constant whenever we were home. Ali’s family became my second family, welcoming me through countless dinners and letting me stay at their lake house for months prior to me meeting Joey—a season of my life when their home truly felt like my own. Now, Ali is serving in the Army and training to become a doctor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland—the Pentagon’s medical school. Despite the distance and demands of military life, our bond has never wavered. Ali is more than a lifelong friend—she is my sister.
