We met at work in 2009 and both were attending Long Beach State. What started out as just friends, lead to a competitive battle of me whooping Ben's butt in Facebook Scrabble in 2011. Ben being the bettin' type - bet me over and over again for things like: a drink, Starbucks, a foot massage, etc. Ben lost in stride, but lived up to his word and followed through on his losses. Next thing you know, I was getting text messages like, "Are you tired? Because you've been running through my mind all day." I pushed back for several weeks, until I caved and allowed myself to fall in love with his gigantic smile and intelligent mind. And the rest is HISTORY!
In order to pull off the perfect proposal for my beautiful, soon to be wife, I thought back to all the great times we had together throughout our relationship and started narrowing down places that were special to us. From camping in Joshua Tree and Mt Baldy, to singing along with our favorite bands in concert or dressing up as Woody and Jessie in Vegas for Halloween, there seemed to be too many choices. Then I remembered the one special place where it all began for us, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It's the place where I first asked Kenzi to be my girlfriend and now its the place where I will ask her to be my one and only, forever. With the location set, I had to figure out how to get her there without figuring out my master plan. So, I got us a couple tickets to see the Oakland A's on a Sunday and told her we might as make a weekend out of it. Tandem biking is her favorite thing to do in SF so we rode around and grabbed lunch in the city. It got tricky after that because we couldn't find parking by the Golden Gate and Kenzi suggested coming back the next day. Little did she know I had a photographer waiting to capture our special moment, so I convinced her to park farther away and hike in. We finally made it to the overlook and after a little bit of reminiscing, I got down on one knee and asked Kenzi to marry me, and she said YES!
