Taniel
Best Man
Taniel is one of the best friends of the groom and also one of the funniest people you will ever meet. Taniel and the groom have always known each other for quite some time because they grew up in the same hometown. As they developed into men, they formed a bond like brothers. Taniel was one of the first friends that met Kenya and he is glad to be apart of the Truesdale union. Taniel is married and is the father of 3 beautiful little girls, #GirlDad.
Jalisa
Maid of Honor
Jalisa is one of Kenya's best friends who is kind hearted and very thoughtful. Jalisa is also Kenya’s older sister and her last roommate (lol). It was while they were living together that Jalisa met Zedrick. It didn’t take long for Zedrick to feel like a third roommate. While Jalisa was tough on Zedrick in the beginning, he integrated himself in the Byas family and he already feels like the brother she never had. She cannot wait to make it an official title. Her favorite thing about the couple is how they balance each other.
Washington
Best Man
Washington is a first generation American by way of Liberia in West Africa. He is truly a family man and he loves music and nature. A true AFRICAN American hippie. Washington met Zedrick at a very young age, around the time he moved to America. Zedrick's grandmother Rosa Lee Vinson was one of the first people his mother befriended and through the years they went from friends to lifelong brothers. Washington remembers Zedrick telling him about Kenya and a feeling of worry coming over him because he thought he wouldn't see his brother as much. That feeling of worry passed as he realized Kenya's vibe was very pure and caring.
Justice
Maid of Honor
Justice is the mother to an adorable little girl, Lauren. Justice and Kenya attended the same high school and graduated only one year apart. Their friendship did not kick off until working together at Rush's (iykyk). Who would have thought such girls with the same personality and smart mouths would form a bond so close. Justice remembers the day Kenya and Zedrick met because since that day all she did was talk about him. Next thing she knew, they were all together and sitting on the couch having deep conversations about life. Zedrick and Kenya are like brother and sister to her and she is super excited to not only witness their union but to also be an intricate part of their union. #TakenByTruesdale
Mitchell
Groomsman
Mitchell is a very close friend of the groom and also his cousin. Mitchell met Zedrick at a very young age during little league football. Mitchell was his first quarterback and actually watched Zedrick run his first touchdown. He is a Clemson University alumni, has a 10 year old son and he owns a trucking company. Mitchell met Kenya a while ago during a summer league basketball event. He is very excited to be a part of the couple's special day.
Charmaine
Maid of Honor
Charmaine and the bride-to-be met at Spring Valley High School in 2010. Since this day forward, these girls have been best friends. Charmaine loves cooking, fashion, tequila and going out for a good time. Prior to Charmaine meeting Zedrick she heard about him so much she felt she knew him. They officially met in 2017 during Winthrop University's homecoming. Maine is very excited about the #TruesdaleUnion and is a very important part of the day.
Michael
Groomsman
Charles (Mike) and the groom are from the same hometown, Lancaster, SC. He has a beautiful fiancée who is very kind spirited and an amazing 10 year old son. He has a true passion for sports, helping our youth, and relaying the skills needed for their future. Although Mike is very competitive in nature he loves to see others win in life which is why the Truesdale Union would not be complete without him. He met Zedrick during youth sports but as men their bond grew stronger. He first met the bride-to-be during a summer league game as she was supporting Zedrick as she always does. Mike feels that it has been a true blessing to be able to be a part of Kenya's life and a true blessing to have witnessed Kenya and Zed's relationship grow into marriage and beyond.
Nia
Bridesmaid
Nia is the younger sister of the bride-to-be. She is currently a mass communication student working for a local news station. Nia is very kind hearted. She loves a good laugh and a good time, like all the Byas gals. Nia met Zedrick one night after a surprise trip to Rock Hill that she took with her parents. LOL. From this day forward Zedrick has become a member of the Byas family and she could not have asked for a better brother-in-law.
Quincy
Groomsman
Quincy is from the same hometown as the groom and he is also a really good friend to the groom. Not only is he a good friend to the groom but he is also the fiancé of the groom's sister, Pashala. He and Pashala have two handsome sons, Jace and Ethan. Quincy and Zedrick have a deep passion for sports which is what formed their bond in high school, but it became stronger through the Omega Psi Phi Incorporated brotherhood. S/O to the good bruhz! Quincy and the bride-to-be both went to Winthrop University but they officially met during a planned birthday celebration for the groom in 2018!
Pashala

Pashala the groom's sister, met her AceBoon Zedrick in '95 when he was 3 years old making him a big brother. She is a true Aries at heart. She is the fiancée to Quincy, S/O to the good bruhz. She has 2 handsome sons and she loves to cook and try new recipes especially from Pinterest. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends while tapping into her creative skills. Zedrick and Pashala are very close and she is always a listening ear for her big brother! Pashala met her lovely sister n love in 2018!
Quintin
Groomsman
Quintin is the friend and line brother of Zedrick. The two met at South Carolina State University, while pledging the Xi Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Incorporated Spring '13. From that point on, the two have been extremely close. Quintin is known to be a laid back, wise, humble and compassionate guy. He was also one of the first people to find out about Zedrick and Kenya’s engagement. He wishes nothing but happiness, success and blessings for the couple as they embark on a new union.
Melanie

Melanie is a close friend of the bride and one of the most down-to-earth people you will ever meet. Melanie and the bride-to-be have known each other since 2016 during their time at Winthrop University. Whenever the bride-to-be needed Chemistry help she always called on her girl. Melanie was actually one of the first people to meet Zedrick when they first started interacting and is so glad to be a part of the Truesdale union. Melanie currently lives in Grand Prairie, TX, and can’t wait to celebrate with the Truesdales on their special day.
Matthew
Groomsman
Matthew and the groom have known each other for a very long time. Throughout their childhood they played sports and became friends/brothers on and off the field. Matt is a very quiet, laid back and loyal friend. He is married to his beautiful wife, with two beautiful kids and another on the way. Although he first met Kenya at a game for his son, his best memory is when he attended a cookout/fellowship at the couple's place.
Sebrenna

Sebrenna is from the same hometown as the bride-to-be however she currently lives in the beautiful city of Hopkins with her lovely family. She was first introduced to Kenya at a Winthrop University Homecoming by a mutual friend. She knew from the moment she met Kenya that she would be one of her closes friends (of course). Now, 7 years later she gets to share one of the best moments of her life. She is so happy and honored that the bride-to-be and groom are allowing her to witness and participate in this beautiful union.
Jamad

Jamad is from a small town, Walterboro, SC. He is a SC State University alumni, and he has an eight year old son. He met the groom in 2013 when they were both interested in the same fraternity. They went on to pledge the Omega Psi Phi fraternity and since then have been best friends. Jamad met the bride-to-be when the two became a couple. He has always told Zedrick he had a good woman who is always there for him. He wishes the couple nothing but the BEST and he is happy to be apart of the Truesdale wedding!
Asiah

Asiah is a recent HBCU graduate of Claflin University and also the mother of one handsome little fella, big Ny. Being the groom's younger sister they officially met in '99. She enjoys having a good time, vibing to good music, and relaxing when she is not working. She met her lovely sister-in-love in 2018.
Joseph “LJ”
Groomsmen/Usher
Joseph “LJ” Truesdale is the 1st cousin of the groom. He and the groom grew up as close as normal cousins who had distance between them (living in neighboring states) and having a 4 year age gap. As they both grew into adulthood they became closer, more like brothers as some would say. LJ met Kenya in the couples early stages of dating, and the two have been pretty cool ever since. LJ is the father of a 6 year old son, Kyree “KJ”. He works for a wire company in Charlotte. But is currently in the process of starting an non profit organization to help at risk youth make better lifestyle decisions to better their future alongside his mother Donna Curry. LJ has been very supportive of the couples relationship since day 1 and is very excited to see the pair take it to the next level.
Dakota
Flower Girl
Of course we have to feature the couple’s lovely flower girl, Dakota. She is the little cousin of the bride-to-be traveling all the way from Florida! The couple could not have picked anyone better to be the flower girl. With her bright smile, and awesome personality she will sure make the day perfect!
