Kenya Shi’Ann Palmer and Jakob Anthony Walker first met each other in October of 2017. From the moment we met, we felt a special attraction towards each other that we knew could develop into a long relationship full of happy memories and exciting experiences. From then on, we continued to spend more time together and spend every day speaking to each other about our days and we would often consider our future together. Through many romantic dates and helping each other through our respective degrees, our love for each other grew to a point where we decided that it would be a great idea for us to move in together. In June of 2021, we moved into our first apartment together. In Kingwood, it was a new beginning for both of us since it was a place that neither of us were familiar with. However, through perseverance and teamwork we managed to grow and find our home in this area and continue to grow together as a couple. Kenya and Jakob have learned a lot from each other. For example, one fun fact is that Kenya never ate a steak until Jakob grilled the most delicious steak. Since then, Kenya refuses to eat steak at any other restaurant. On the other hand, Jakob learned how to change a tire after an experience together where a tire had to be changed and Kenya had to help change it. In August of 2022, Jakob formally proposed to Kenya. In order to read more about the proposal, please see the section below.
On our fateful day, we went out to eat at an incredible seafood restaurant called "Monument Inn." Kenya was terrified that I was going to propose right there, because she did not want to have a public proposal, but we enjoyed our dinner. Instead, when we got home, I had her sit on our couch and read a letter I had written for her. After that, I popped the ever important question. We both cried, but she said yes.
