Question

What are accommodations like?

Answer

Unless we have reached out directly to tell you otherwise, you are staying in the onsite lodging at Guemes Island Resort! We have hand-selected and pre-assigned your accommodations and you’ll receive your lodging assignment upon check-in. You DO NOT need to make any reservations at the resort - your RSVP will hold your lodging assignment. Guemes Island Resort offers a variety of accommodations, including waterfront Cabins and modern Yurts. All are 🔥 heated 🔥 and designed for a comfortable stay in nature. Nightly rates range from $75-$125 per person ($225-$375 for the full weekend). Stay tuned for payment instructions and your specific rates. 🏘️ Waterfront Cabins – Each has a full kitchen (fridge/freezer, microwave, stove, oven, coffee maker & grinder, toaster). Stocked with linens, towels, shampoo & conditioner. Each cabin has some combination of wood stove, private deck, hot tub and/or stunning water view. 🛖 Yurts – Not your average yurt! Rustic yet comfortable, with electricity and heating. Stocked with linens and towels, and access to shared bathhouse (with 3 full bathrooms) and kitchen pavilion (with fridge/freezer, cookware, French press, electric kettle, and propane stove). Each has its own private deck! Those assigned to yurts will get a heads up prior to check in to best plan for shared spaces. All accommodations have access to resort amenities, including the sauna, fire pits, game room, row boats, and private beach access. Each has at least one (1) assigned parking space (additional overflow parking available).

Question

What meals and drinks are provided?

Answer

We will provide dinner, along with alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, for each evening event. Additionally, we will serve pastries and coffee in the tent on Sunday morning. See more details on the "Schedule" tab. 🍕 🥘 🍔 Otherwise, we encourage you to explore local restaurants (see the "Things to Do" tab for recommendations) or make use of the fully equipped kitchens in your cabins. Those of you staying in yurts (you know who you are!) note that your shared kitchen pavilion is a bit more bare bones, but still ready to be used! 🍺🍷🍹🥤 While we will be serving adult beverages (beer & wine Friday and Sunday, full open bar Saturday) and soft drinks at each evening event, feel free to bring your own! We just ask that you don't serve yourself while our bar is open on Saturday from 4:30-9:30PM (this is for vendor liability reasons). Snacks, soft drinks, beer, wine, and liquor are all available for purchase at the resort gift store.

Question

How do I get to Guemes Island Resort? Where can I find ferry info? ⛴️

Answer

To reach Guemes Island Resort, you’ll take the Guemes Island Ferry from Anacortes, WA. The voyage only takes about 5 minutes! See the "Ferry Details" tab for everything you need to know about the Guemes Island Ferry!

Question

Where do I park? 🅿️

Answer

For those staying at the resort: Each cabin or yurt has at least one (1) assigned parking spot. You will get parking details at check-in, but if your group has more cars than spaces assigned, there is an overflow parking lot just a short walk away. For those staying in an Airbnb or Hotel: There is an overflow parking lot (you will see signage!) with a walking path down to the resort. Note that the path is a bit of a downhill and made of mulch.

Question

Is there Wifi? 🛜

Answer

Yes! The resort and cabins have wifi. It is not the strongest signal... so no Zoom calls 🙃

Question

Do I need to book a hotel or rental house?

Answer

Unless we have reached out directly with information about a hotel or AirBnb to book, you DO NOT need to make any hotel or housing reservations - you will be staying in the onsite lodging at Guemes Island Resort. We have hand-selected and pre-assigned your accomodations based on accessibility and comfort needs of each guest, as well as family members or friends. You’ll receive your lodging assignment upon check-in. Questions? Feel free to text or call us!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we adore your kiddos, we’ve chosen to keep our wedding an adults-only celebration, with the exception of a few of our tiniest, newest family members. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

How the heck do you pronounce “Guemes”?

Answer

Not super conclusive…. Most locals say either “Gway-Miss” or “Gwee-Miss,” or something in between… (as long as you don’t say “Gweeeeeems,” you’re in the clear 🤓)
