We have shown horses together for years, we never thought much of it. I always thought he was much older than me, he always thought I was a lot younger than him. Then one night at the MSU Horse Pavilion, I was in the center of the arena coaching someone, when he accidentally ran into me with his horse. We started talking, laughing, then later that night a horse had knocked over a huge sign in our aisle way, so I asked him to help me. Afterwards, he told me there would be an empty seat next to him at the bar if I wanted to join, I was hesitant at first, but then I decided to go. The rest is history, we never looked back.
I knew right from the get go, that this felt right, but I never knew what he was thinking (men never say anything haha), until one day he said everything without saying much. I was cleaning the aisle way in his barn, so we could relax a little bit sooner. His mom had said something to the idea of "Why is she helping you fix the barn?" and his response was "Well, she is more than likely going to be living here within the next year, so I want things to be the way she wants them too." I just stayed quiet, and smiled to myself, as his mom drug him inside to figure out what he meant by that :) From what I understand he told her then what his plan was, but that's just hear say :)
It was Monday, April 11th 2016, around 7:30 am, we were both outside cleaning horse stalls, he had walked away for a few minutes, and came back and asked me to come out of the stall. Me in my normal fashion said "not right now I want to get this done", finally he drug me out of the stall, and was holding me in the aisle way of the barn, kissing me and telling me sweet things. During that time I could feel him fiddling around in his coat pocket. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I started crying and said yes, obviously! Lol. He tried putting the ring on my finger, but it was way too small which made us both laugh.
