Kenny and I met on a dating app, Bumble. We actually went to school together. I knew who he was, and I would see his family a lot when I worked my first job at BB’s. But I didn’t know much about him. When I got onto Bumble (10/18/23), I noticed he super-swiped on me! So then I swiped right, and started the conversation. We hit it off right away! Having similar hobbies, interests, and especially values, which were important for each other. Our first date (11/18/23) was at Texas Roadhouse for dinner, and then to Hatchet and Axe Co. for some axe throwing. At dinner we had great conversation, and got to have some fun being super competitive in axe throwing. Then after our second date (12/2/23) which was Chick-Fil-A, Herr’s Christmas lights, and bowling, he asked me to be his Girlfriend. Then fast forward 8 months filled with wonderful memories, here we are, now ENGAGED!
08. 10. 24 Kenny’s family and I were on vacation this week from August 5-12th. From Monday to Wednesday we went to Broadkill Beach, a beach that’s part of Rehoboth, in a very nice beach house. Then from Friday to the following Monday we all went to Tucquan Campground, a place where Kenny’s family camped frequently at growing up, and still to this day. I had a sure feeling it was happening at the campground. Between me snooping about ring engravings, to family spilling some secrets, I knew it was going to be on Saturday. In the afternoon on Saturday, I was told to stay in the camper and get ready. Totally full of emotions, butterflies filled my stomach and I kept shaking because I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. Then his parents blindfolded me and his Mom walked me to the spot. Then when arriving to the spot, Kenny takes off my blindfold and hands me a big bouquet of roses, and I take his arm. There’s a trail of rose petals, and immediately as I turn the corner I see the set up, and I start bawling. Both of us filled with emotion, Kenny leads me to the spot he set up by the pond. Between the heart shape made with petals, a sign and blanket of “Will You Marry Me?”, pictures of us hanging in the trees, and the fountain in the background it was just magical! Kenny gives his speech, and amongst us both crying, he then gets down on one knee. Filled with so much emotion, all I could do to respond was shake my head yes! Then his family, my best friend Michala, her Mom Dara, and outsiders all clap and cheer. We pop champagne, take pictures, and I’m surprised with pictures of my pets, made it all special! The proposal was more than perfect!!!
