Hannah and Kenny’s story started backstage at Hillsong Church NYC, where they met volunteering on the host team. Kenny was vibrant and outgoing (and frequently seemed to be dancing), and Hannah was calm and sassy. They were both drawn to each other, though Hannah turned Kenny down the first time he asked her out because she panicked and couldn’t think of a better answer (smooth). Thankfully he was persistent, and even ended up slyly turning their agreed-to coffee date into a full dinner date. According to Kenny, he fell for Hannah when he first heard her worship. Hannah, on the other hand, took her time trying to gauge the temperature of the water while he was already splashing her from the deep end. She instantly knew Kenny was an incredible, passionate, bold man of faith that she wanted in her life... just wasn't sure to what capacity. But Kenny is always up for a challenge, and by the time he was deploying to Afghanistan 5 months into their relationship, Hannah was madly in love with his crazy. Half of their almost-three-year relationship has been long distance, but every challenge that has presented has been 1000x worth it to do life together. Kenny's favorite question to ask Hannah has been "will you marry me one day?" Now they are one step closer to the day that will happen.
