It didn't take long for us to realize that we both had a crush on each other. We met in high school but went on our first date after about a year of knowing each other. On a romantic first date at the Boulder Star, I asked Andrea to be my girlfriend and the rest is history. From high school to college, to now our careers, we have always done things together and supported each other through each step. We have grown up together and experienced many life milestones together and now we are excited to experience many more life milestones as a married couple.

A couple weeks before Christmas, our group of college friends decided to meet in Estes Park at Melissa's house for a gift exchange. Kenny came to my house in the morning to pick me up and while we were on our way into the mountains, we talked about when Kenny would propose, and I confidently told him "I really don't know how you'd ever be able to surprise me. I'm totally going to see it coming." When we arrived, our friends texted us saying that they'd be late, but we should try the back door of Melissa's house- it might be unlocked. I was thinking it would be a long shot, but whatever why not try, right? Kenny and I walked around the back of the house, admiring the gorgeous view of the mountains, to try the back door. It's locked- no surprise there. I start heading back to the car since it was pretty windy and cold, when Kenny calls my name. I turned around, there he was on one knee, and he asked me to marry him! Obviously, I said yes, and we held each other and cried happy tears for a while. It was truly the most special and intimate moment we've ever shared. And to top it all off, Kenny gets to brag to me forever about how he surprised me, and I had no idea it was coming!
