Things To Do

We are so excited to share our love of Austin with you and all of the beautiful sites it has to offer. Here are some recommendations of our favorite places to go during your visit.

Barton Springs Municipal Pool

2131 William Barton Drive, Austin, TX 78746

This is a massive public pool fed by a natural spring that is 68 degrees year round.

Rainey Street Historic District

Rainey Street, Austin, TX 78701

This is an adorable street downtown filled with restaurants, bars, and food trucks. We love to go here for date night or a fun night out with friends.

Sixth Street Historic District

6th street, Austin, TX 78701

If you are looking for a more "adventurous" night out on the town, sixth street is known for it's awesome live music and bar hopping. The entire street shuts down every weekend for people to roam around and get a little wild. One of our favorite bars is the Blind Pig Pub with a rooftop, but there is plenty to check out all in walking distance.

Twin Falls and Sculpture Falls Parking Access

3918 South MoPac Expressway, Austin, TX 78746

For those who want to check out the greenbelt, this is the perfect place to get your hike on. Twin falls is a short 10 minute hike to a beautiful swimming area. You can also hike another 3 miles to the sculpture falls which is an even bigger and more beautiful swimming area with small cliffs and waterfalls to dive off.

Pennybacker Bridge

5300 North Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, TX 78730

The Pennybacker bridge is one of our favorite places to take in all of Austin's scenery. It's a very short (but steep) hike up a cliff that overlooks the Colorado River, Hill country, and downtown skyline.

Downtown Round Rock

Main street, Round Rock, TX 78664

Downtown Round Rock is just minutes from our house and seconds from the venue. Main street is a cute little street made up of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops perfect for a lunch or a night out featuring great local music. (It is a lot less chaotic than sixth street to say the least.)

Texas Capitol

1100 Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78701
, (512) 463-4630

There's not much I need to say other than you should definitely go check out the state capitol if you have time. It's absolutely gorgeous and admission is free.

For all the days along the way
