Travel Note

By Boat: Port Jefferson

We all know the song: Skip the traffic, enjoy The Sound! Drive aboard the Port Jeff Ferry to cut down your travel time out of New York. The ferry ride is about an hour, with 4 hours drive time from Bridgeport, CT to Pittsfield, VT along the beautiful Route 91. We recommend stopping at the Vermont Welcome Center, your 1 hour left mark. Please be sure to book your ferry ticket in advance to guarantee a spot!

By Boat: Orient Point

The Cross Sound Ferry is another great option to avoid traffic off the island. The drive out to Orient Point will take you through the farms and foliage of Long Island's North Fork. From there, you'll arrive in New London, CT, and the drive will be another 4 hours to Pittsfield, VT along route 91. The Vermont Welcome Center is a good last minute stop with an hour left of the drive. Please be sure to book your ferry ticket in advance to guarantee a spot!

By Car

Traveling by car will take about 6 hours with much of the drive taking you through rural Upstate New York. We recommend stopping at TASTE NY Todd Hill about 2 hours in along the Taconic State Parkway, and again at the Stewarts Shops in Hoosick, about an hour and a half from Pittsfield. As upstate NY cellphone service can be patchy, make sure you plug in your destination early on to get the whole drive loaded up. The route does have tolls!

Below are a handful of AIRBNB options as well as a local hotel block. All listed rentals are in Pittsfield, just a few minutes drive to the venue. While all below suggestions are local, other accommodation options are available in nearby Rutland - about a half hour from Pittsfield. Please note, if you have not been given a room assignment, you will need to secure your own accommodations.

For those who received a “We’ve got you” card: We have 14 bedrooms available for family and friends, each with a private bathroom. Rooms sleep at least 2, so room assignments will be given ahead of time. Room numbers will be provided when you arrive in Pittsfield. If you would like to opt out, please let us know immediately so we can give the space to other guests!

The Brown House

For those who received a “We’ve got you” card: We have 5 rooms with up to 2 beds each reserved for family at The Brown House, located just a few minutes down the road from The Swiss Farm Inn. If you would like to opt out of your spot, please let us know immediately so we can give the space to other guests!

Hotel

Clear River Inn

Please call and mention you are guests of our wedding and that there is a room block in place. If you cannot reach the front desk, make sure you leave a message! This room block is not available to book through their website. About a 3 minute drive from the Swiss Farm Inn. A 2-night minimum is required. This is a small block and will be first come, first serve, available until September 20th.
