Most love stories have “the” moment when a couple knew they were going to be together. But this couple’s story is not most love stories. Kenny and Essence have met a total of 3 times, on 3 separate occasions, and the amount of times beforehand that they’ve been in the same place at the same time, including Germany, but their paths never crossed are far too many to count. The most notable time, however, was one week before Essence was set to leave Texas (which she thought was for good). Her best friend invited her for one last outing with a group of friends and so the bride happily agreed. It was there that everything changed. If we let Essence tell it, she was just there to enjoy her last moments in Texas with her best friend and watch the newly released “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” movie. But let Kenny tell it, and you’ll realize, it was love at first sight (complete with sparkling eyes and all). Needless to say, time and distance were no deterring factors when it came to the pursuit the groom was willing and ready to journey in making Essence his wife, and it was quite the journey. But when God’s hand is in it, everything aligns exactly how it’s supposed to be. Now, the two friends, turned lovers, and now fiancées, continue to set foot on the path, perfectly curated for them by God, that neither one of them could have ever made on their own, continuing to trust in His timing and believing that no distance, delay, or detour can keep what God has approved and joined together, apart.
