How We Met

Ken and I met at Suffolk County Community College while taking a photography class. We were both pretty shy when it came to talking to each other and I was oblivious of his first "hello" to me and brushed it off as him just being a nice guy...but he was persistent. He ordered 250 business cards and gave one to me, but gave them all lout to the other classmates so that it wouldn't be too obvious. He put one on my desk, tapped it with his finger and walked away. Shaking like a leaf, I had no idea what to do next. I texted my friend and excitedly told me to "Call him! Call him!". I don't talk on the phone and being extremely shy, I texted him instead. We began our friendship from there and got to know each other. I told him all of my past medical baggage so that he would know what He was in for. But he stayed. We learned more about each other and it kept growing from there, we were both looking for something serious and long-lasting. We went on our first date and then a few after. We fell in love quickly and formed a relationship that was very strong. Over the past 5 years, we still continue to learn more and more about each other and make each other smile. We have created so many special memories together and look forward to creating more.

The Proposal

June 10th, 2018

Ken proposed on top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. when we had gone there for a wedding. The day after, we drove up the mountain with Eugene and Christie and had a beautiful end to our visit. I was mostly nervous the drive up because of how high it was! Ken was especially cheery now that I think back to that day. He had something up his sleeve. We got to the very top and visited the gift shop and got something to eat. I was still quite nervous being up that high but we got the most beautiful weather that day and the view was so clear. I was in aw of this wonderful experience. We walked around outside with the wind blowing and the sun shining. Ken walked to this area with rocks and was looking around. In my head I wondered what he was thinking, he was quiet. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Only in between the tears behind his sunglasses though. I was extremely surprised and did not get any of the hints that our friends and Ken later shared with me! We both feel very blessed to go through life together and look forward to spending the rest of it with eachother
