We had an absolutely unforgettable, beautiful, (tiny!) wedding on October 3rd of last year. Thank you to everyone that helped make that happen in the middle of a global pandemic. It wasn’t what either of us had imagined, and it still ended up being perfect. The only thing we really missed was the fun of throwing a party for all of our favorite people from different chapters of our lives. So we’ve decided to go ahead and throw an anniversary bash. Go ahead and mark your calendars and book your accommodations to come party in Nashville on October 2nd, 2021. There will be music, food and drinks, and we expect people to get a bit sloppy, dance, and tell us how much our example of easy-going-love brightens their lives. We really can’t wait to share some fun with everyone. See you soon. Love, Allen and Kenneth P.S. The venue and time are listed on the "Schedule" page. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
We want our wedding to be a true celebration with the family and friends that mean the world to us. Unfortunately, COVID-19 is not under control, and we don’t see how we can keep people safe, stay within health code regulations, and celebrate the way we want to. So, we're hitting pause for now, but be on the lookout for a new date. Our first pick is October 2nd of next year if you want to pencil it in, and you’ll get an official notice in the new year. Thanks to everyone who has helped us talk through our options and come to a conclusion that feels right. Until next year, Allen and Kenneth
2020 has been a mess, so we're really hoping to add a ray of light to the end of it with our wedding. We have the later date and open-air venue in our favor, so we're planning to go ahead with the wedding. We do, of course, plan to follow CDC guidelines, which may include wearing masks. For now, we think it's too far out to say exactly how it's going to look. Dining, drinking, partying are the favorite local pastimes. But we're hoping five months will be time enough for all of us here in Nashville to figure out how to go about business so that you all can get a taste of Nashville despite the crazy time we live in. That being said, you are invited because we care about you, and that includes your health and comfort. So please don't worry that we will hold it against you if the travel or event itself is outside your comfort level this fall or if you were financially hurt by the current crisis and a trip to Nashville is not in the cards. We will be holding off on collecting RSVPs until July. So for now, please join us in marking your calendars and hoping for the best. Love, Kenneth and Allen
In 2013, Kenneth was working his new job and saving to move into his own place. Allen had just crash-landed in Nashville after four years abroad with no job, a used Kia with 200,000 miles on it, and a completely unfurnished apartment. They met online, went out for a date, and talked for hours outside of Chipotle on Broadway. Life was busy and things were slow, but they stuck in each other's minds, and that holiday season, they went out again. They had their first kiss outside the Opryland Hotel, spent New Year's Eve together, and since then the ball never stopped rolling. Kenneth overlooked the complete lack of furniture in Allen's apartment. Allen overlooked Kenneth living at home, and they both overlooked each other's terrible taste in cheesecake. Over the years, they've moved from sharing drinks, meals, laughs, and good times to sharing love, family, friends, trips, an apartment, a dog, and their first home. They got to celebrate with the nation in June of 2015 as marriage was legalized, and now they're thrilled to celebrate their love with family and friends who have been along for the ride.
