The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is the world’s largest permanent exhibition of African American history and culture with more than twenty galleries that take visitors on a chronological and geographical journey, detailing the intricate and beautiful culture and heartbreaking struggles of African Americans, while celebrating the men, women and families who founded businesses, educational institutions civic organizations and spiritual traditions that shaped the world. Among the more than 35,000 artifacts, find interactive kids stations, displays on trailblazers in science and engineering, and stained-glass windows by Samuel A. Hodge that depict stories of notable African Americans from dancers to civil rights activists.
Norma G's serves Caribbean cuisine with Trinidadian roots. As some of you may know, we both studied abroad in Trinidad and Tobago and fell in love with the culture. Our favorite Trinidadian food/snack/menu item is "doubles," a Trinidadian street food staple of curried chickpeas between two pieces of fried dough.
