On November 1, 2020, a divine and intentional TikTok changed everything. Mason came across a video of Kennedy with a gospel song playing in the background—and something about it stood out. The joy and anointing shining through her videos drew him in, and before long, he had followed her on Instagram. Hours later, they were already deep in conversation about school, faith, and life. What began as an unlikely connection—a guy from Texas and a girl from New York—quickly turned into something beautiful. From late-night phone calls and FaceTime Bible studies to pressing play on movies at the same time, they built a bond across hundreds of miles. COVID-19 and long distance may have kept them apart physically, but their connection only grew stronger. That bond became real in August 2021, when Mason, then at Howard University, and Kennedy, at Hampton University (yes, rival schools 😄), met in the middle in Richmond, Virginia. After eight months of only knowing each other through phone screens, the day finally came to meet in person. From then on, monthly trips to Richmond became their tradition—until God had other plans. Kennedy transferred to Howard, and what was already strong became unbreakable. Howard University will always hold a special place in their hearts, as it was the place their relationship was cultivated. Whether crossing paths in the library after a long day of classes, grabbing meals at the café, or riding the shuttle back to off-campus student apartments, they were inseparable. Their time there not only grew their love but also shaped their future together. After graduation, the fruits of their hard work and faith became clear. Kennedy completed her studies at Howard University summa cum laude, while Mason earned his master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. With God’s hand guiding every step, their paths led to June 1, 2025, when Mason asked Kennedy to be his wife. Their engagement was a moment overflowing with joy, grace, and the undeniable presence of God’s love. From Texas and New York, to Howard and Hampton, to starting their careers in Northern Virginia, their story has always been guided by faith. And now, a new chapter begins. On January 1, 2026—a new year and a new beginning—Mason and Kennedy will become one in Christ. They invite you to join them in celebrating this beautiful union, ordained by the Lord.
