There is also a FREE shuttle run by the town of Crested Butte that will take you right to the venue!
The average high in June is 73 with lows dropping down to 36. During the day it should feel warm with the sun, but the temperature will drop significantly once the sun goes down. Please come prepared with layers to keep warm!
Crested Butte sits 9,000 ft above sea level. Denver is 5,280 ft. If you’re going from low elevation to above 5,000 feet, you are at risk for getting altitude sickness. High altitude sickness can feel like a bad hangover. It is most often accompanied by a headache and may leave you or a guest feeling tired. You may feel nauseated, dizzy and have trouble sleeping. You may also notice that you’re short of breath when you try to exert yourself. Even climbing a set of stairs can leave you winded. Altitude sickness typically lasts between 24-48 hours. While it won’t kill you, it will hamper your ability to truly enjoy yourself. How can you prevent this? 1. STAY HYDRATED especially if you choose to drink alcohol. 2. Take an extra vacation day and spend the night in Denver prior to heading into the mountains. 3. Consider bringing some oxygen in a can.
