Kennan and I met out west in September 2017. I was living in Nevada for the ultimate post college experience and Kennan was stationed out in Twentynine Palms (29 for 29 restaurants total), CA. After kicking Kennan out of the house on our first date (play hard ladies, am I right?), a few weekend trips, and endless phone conversations, Kennan and I took our first road trip to the USMC Birthday Ball in November 2017. This vacation not only convinced me of how nearly obsessed I am with the USMC (I told Kennan I wanted to enlist several times that night) but of how much I loved the man I had been sharing my time with. So much so, I blurted out I loved Kennan the night of the ball. After serious conversations, making our relationship "official", and meeting the Millers, Kennan and I prepared for our first deployment. Seven months of uncertainty yet endless devotion, commitment and love. When Kennan got back to the states, I had already moved across the country, back to NY where I started a vigorous 1 year accelerated nursing program (we just couldn't stay away from each other). After completing my degree, I celebrated alongside Kennan in CA where we got engaged! A day trip to Joshua Tree where we planned to hike, have a picnic and relax. I said yes! Yes to a lifetime of uncertainty, yes to following our dreams, yes to moving wherever the military sends us, yes to spending a lifetime with my best friend. Although Kennan and I are legally married (surprise for those who do not know!), we would love nothing more than to have you all witness the love we share. Due to unforeseen restrictions, we will be unable to celebrate with everyone in November like we had originally planned. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We are so sorry, but we are hopeful that we will be able to come together some day soon to celebrate!
