Gunnar and Kenna officially met on October 5, 2024, on their first date at Mr. Putty’s Fun Park. Kenna arrived still covered in glitter from a guard competition, and Gunnar showed up with a 3D-printed rose he had made for her. They played putt-putt, got Handel’s ice cream, played Spikeball in the parking lot, and talked until the night had to end. Before this, they had found each other online, and Kenna recognized Gunnar as Jules' brother. Kenna had met Jules on a mission trip over a year earlier, and through that connection, she and Gunnar began a conversation that never really ended. Gunnar then wasted no time and planned their first date that same week. At the end of the date, Kenna asked Gunnar, “So… do you want to see me again?”… He did. They became official on October 27, and over the next year, learned how to navigate long distance with FaceTime calls, weekend drives, and making the most of the time they had together. They went to concerts and weddings, spent time boating and hunting, played many games, and shared lots of time with family; settling into a relationship that felt natural and steady from the start. It quickly became clear this was the relationship they had been praying for! A week before proposing, Gunnar took a weekend hunting trip with Mr. Scott and asked for his blessing, and then bought the ring the very next day. He, again, wasted no time :). On their one-year anniversary (October 27th), Gunnar proposed at Mr. Putty’s, where it all began. It was the perfect full-circle moment! They are so excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to celebrate with their closest family and friends!
