Our Love Story

9.15.18 - FOREVER

We met when we were 16, right before Kenna's sophomore year and Carter's junior year at Layton High School. Our friend Lindsie (one of Kenna's maid of honors) set us up and we instantly became so close to each other. We became "official" a couple of weeks before attending homecoming, our first school dance together. We dated all throughout high school, supporting each other at drill competitions, soccer games, and life's ups and downs. Carter played soccer for Snow College while Kenna finished her last year of high school. It was so hard for us to not see each other near as much as we used to, but now we look back and love the memories of all the facetime calls and weekends that we looked forward to more than anything! Both of us are currently students at Weber State University and work full time. We stay very busy, but we seriously love spending everyday together and are non-stop laughing when we are. We're both introverts at heart and wish we could spend all day doing nothing together because those are truly our favorite and funnest times. We have been dreaming about getting married since we were 16 and it still feels so surreal to us that it will soon be our reality. We couldn't love each other more or be more excited for our forever together!

the proposal

11.20.22

Our proposal felt like the most magical and emotional moment for us! We were in New York City with Carter's family for Thanksgiving. Our first day there, Carter planned a visit to the Vanderbilt Summit One building. This building is 93 stories tall and looks over the entire city with all glass walls and floors. It was dark by the time we were up on the top floor and we spent time taking in the beautiful views of the city lights and taking pictures. Carter lead me over to see the Empire State Building and that's when he asked me to marry him. I was flooded with emotions and immediately said "yes!" Carter's family was there to celebrate with us and he made sure to have my entire family on facetime that way they could also be a part of our moment. As we took our photos, the Empire State Building lit up light purple, my most favorite color, and it felt like a sign! It was the most special night celebrating together and enjoying the unreal views of the city we'd always dreamed of going to together.

our plans

We are both in school right now. Kenna is working towards a career as a nurse practitioner and Carter is studying to pursue a career in human resources. We hope to spend a large portion of our lives traveling to new places and experiencing new things together. We already have about 4 different names picked out for our future dogs- we already love you Norman, Tony, Harold, and Kevin! Safe to say you can definitely expect dogs sooner than kids, lol. We are going to be living in an apartment close to both of our families and plan to stay there while we finish school. We are so excited for everything we have in store for us and are so grateful for the support we get from both of our families as we figure life out!
