Experience a scenic journey to the summit of Pikes Peak aboard the historic Cog Railway. Climbing more than 8,000 feet, it’s a memorable way to see one of Colorado’s most iconic peaks without the strenuous hike. Be sure to mind the elevation—altitude sickness is real! Plan 3-4 hours for the full trip. TIPS: Dress in layers; it’s significantly cooler at the summit. Bring a camera, water, and a light snack. Weekends can be busy, so book tickets in advance. Most importantly, don't push it if you aren't acclimated to the altitude!
One of the coolest zoos around, set right on the side of a mountain with amazing views of Colorado Springs. It’s an easy, fun outing for all ages, and feeding the giraffes is a must if you go. It's a great way to spend a few hours exploring! TIP: Wear good walking shoes.
Ivywild is not only an architectural gem, but it is home to some of the best beer, whiskey, and food that Colorado Springs has to offer! Grab a drink, bite to eat, or browse the neat shops in this repurposed school building.
