Our Millenial Long Distance Love Story

Follow, Like, Marry

Wilson and Kenia met one summer day in 2018, in Peekskill, NY out of all the random places in the world. They were both invited to the same church to do one of the things they love most: speak about God and His love. She made sure he had a seat for lunch and he made sure to strike up a conversation. That night when she arrived back home, the first thing she told her roommate was: "I swear, today I met the guy I would marry!" The following night (after some gentle nudging from their mutual friend) Wilson added Kenia on Facebook, because MILLENIALS. After some DM's on Facebook, they moved on to messages and voice notes on Whatsapp. A few months later she just laid all cards on the table and he showed his hand as well; all were winners, obviously, which is why you're here reading this. In December he surprised her by arriving to NYC to spend the holidays with her and her family. Wilson, a man of his word, assured her that he had a purpose for it all. They had based their entire relationship on one phrase: "Que todo fluya y que nada influya" and he wanted to test out where everything was flowing to. "I am going to New York, and if everything goes well with us in person, I'm not coming back a single man and I'm not leaving you without making you my fiancee." Secretly, he started making all the plans for the engagements with her family, almost as soon as he arrived in NYC. On January 12th, 2019 in front of her closest friends and family in church, he blindfolded her eyes, played a little guessing game until he finally handed her a box, and got down on one knee. And on July 11, 2021, in front of friends and family, with one kiss, they'll say I DO!
