Kendyl and her friends were going out to hot country nights like they did every Thursday. And for those that don’t know what hot country nights is it’s a summer concert held in KC every Thursday. Except this Thursday was different from any other because Kendyl had just found out that day she had just been accepted in to Dental Hygine school at UMKC. All of Kendyl’s friends were buying her drinks to celebrate! Kendyl had spotted a guy in the crowd of hundreds of people, and kept making awkward eye contact with this boy. She kept waiting for this boy to come up to her and make a move on her except he never did. Kendyl decided to take actions in to her own hands. She went up to him and the first thing she said was “Hey, do you have a girl friend?” He responded and said “no” and gave his half side smirk he always gives. Kendyl then said “oh okay cool!” And walked away (possibly because she forgot the next step in her plan to talk to this boy due to being intoxicated) He then said "Wait that’s it? What’s your name? Can I get your number?” They exchanged numbers and nothing really came about it until the next day Kendyl decided to follow him on instagram and then he started texting her, however she would never respond. The following Thursday they ran into each other at the next Hot Country Nights and Bo said to Kendyl “Are you ever gonna respond to my messages?” She replied “Mmm maybe you have to take me on a date first” he said “okay let me take you in a date when are you free?” She said well actually I’m not letting you take me in a date until you hang out with my friends and I first.” So they hung out as a group and Kendyl finally agreed to let Bo take her in a date. After the next three dates Bo would repeatedly ask her in the car after every date “so when will you let me date you?”. Kendyl was very hesitant since she was going to start Dental Hygine School and didn’t know if being in an early relationship would be smart for her. However, Bo was very persistent and kept telling her he was never going to stop asking her until she agreed to be his girlfriend. Finally after a random lunch with his family, Bo did this once more which Kendyl knew was coming. Bo started asking the same questions about Kendyl being his girlfriend, he went on and on about how he wasn’t gonna give up on asking her and that he wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend and so on and so on. Kendyl finally replied after what felt like 10 minutes of listening to Bo beg her to date him with a simple "Sure! I’ll be your girlfriend” Bo said “wait really? “ and the rest was history!
It was a warm summer night in June of 2022. The fellas and I decided to head down to Power & Light for Hot Country Nights in search of cold refreshments. I was looking good, shirt? Mostly unbuttoned. Hair? A mess. Tan? Ya. We had not been there long when we decided to make our way towards the stage to listen to the music when something caught my eye, it was Kendyl. She was looking beautiful (per usual) and I knew I needed to strike up a conversation, so what did I do? Obviously, I decided to walk back and forth past her numerous times until she finally said something since, she had undoubtedly noticed me as well. After about the 5 th or 6 th time, I was beginning to lose hope as my legs became tired and I was ready to sit down when suddenly it happened, “You are the man of my dreams” she said, or something like that. Hook, line, and sinker I was sold but then before I could even acquire her number she was gone! What game of cat and mouse was she playing at? I don’t know but my interest was piqued. I spent the rest of the evening trying to get more information about her but every time she would whirl away in an instant like a dust tornado that is here one second and gone the next. I went home feeling defeated but hopeful that I would see her again. A few days later a bird arrived with a letter (she followed me on Instagram) and I was able to seize the moment and secure a date with her to Blue Sushi. We continued to spend time together the next few weeks and while I am not sure who pleaded for us to date more, her or I, it was abundantly clear to me (maybe not her) that she was stuck with me for life.
