If you know where Brendon and I grew up, then you know the invisible strings theory is real. For those who are new here—Brendon is from South Bend, Indiana, and I’m from Elkhart, Indiana. These two cities are only about 20 minutes apart, so naturally, we shared a lot of mutual friends. Both of us grew up playing sports and often played travel ball with people from each other’s schools. Somehow, some way, we never crossed paths—until our freshman year of college. One day, I was talking to one of my friends on snapchat (who also happened to be Brendon’s friend), and Brendon was with him in person. He caught a glimpse of me on his friend’s phone and, being the curious person he is, he asked who I was. After getting his answer, he followed me on Instagram. Now, if you know me, you know I’m not big on following strangers back. So I ignored the follow—but something told me to follow him back. A few hours later, I went back to follow him… and you guessed it—his name had already disappeared from my feed. Yep, he had unfollowed me. 😅 But that definitely wasn’t the end. A few weeks later, he DM’d me with the line: “How you doing, Hood Celebrity?” And from that moment, everything changed. When we went back to our hometowns, we started seeing each other almost every single day. We quickly became attached at the hip. The day before I moved back onto campus, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend. Shortly after I moved, he moved to Indy for work. Brendon introduced me to Jesus, and ever since, the Lord has been at the center of our relationship. God continues to bless us in unimaginable ways. Three years later, we’re still growing—closer to God, and closer to each other. And now, we’re ready to become one. Isaiah 60:22 — “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
