We first met though online dating! Kendra had just signed up for Facebook dating and was a little overwhelmed by the process. Sean, on the other hand, was getting over the Facebook dating scene after being online for a week. Luckily, both of our location settings allowed our profiles to cross paths. A few miles less and we wouldn't be here today! Sean swiped right, he liked Kendra's picture and bio. Kendra saw that he had liked her and after reading his profile, thought they would be a perfect fit! Kendra waited patiently, for about an hour, for Sean to reach out after she sent him a like back. With no response, she decided to get the ball rolling. She sent the message, "Hello. I see I have found a fellow nerd". This lead to the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
While playing a game online, Sean invited Kendra on a trip to the Toledo Zoo. He had not considered that February would be a cold time for a date outside when he arrived 20 minutes early. Kendra's first impression was that Sean was taller than she thought he would be. Sean's first impression was that Kendra looked exactly how he thought she would. Even though Kendra put up a fight, Sean paid and they entered the park. In Kendra's opinion, this is when they began a nice stroll around the part. In Sean's opinion, this is when Kendra decided to put his endurance to the test by speed walking around the zoo. We really enjoyed seeing the red pandas! We ended our date with a hug, both hoping to see the other again soon.
From Kendra's point of view, nothing too crazy was happening today. We had planned to get photographs done by our friend Amanda at a Christmas Tree Farm. I had been hoping this photoshoot would be for "engagement" photos, but that hadn't happened yet. I knew Sean had gotten me a ring, but he did not have a ring box shaped object with him that day so I had accepted it wasn't happening yet. When we arrived, we were shooed away from our friends Mary and Toms photo shoot in progress. Turns out they had behind the scenes cameras set up that they didn't want us to notice. I was surprised to see our friend Melanie there too, but overall wasn't super suspicious. When Amanda asked us to stand from sitting on the blanket were we had just gotten pictures taken, I was annoyed to see Sean out of the corner of my eye still sitting. I had no idea why he wasn't following directions and thought about giving him a nudge. When I looked down he was on a knee with a ring out. I was shocked and so very happy! I of course said yes and was surprised to find our friend Lindsey had been hiding behind a tree recording the whole time! From Sean's point of view, he had bought the ring Kendra had wanted the night she shared it with him. He talked to Amanda about photographing the proposal. Plan A was to propose at the Renaissance Festival, but Amanda was unable to go. Plan B was to propose when we went to Cincinnati to see a show called My Brother, My Brother, and Me. However, Sean had accidently left the ring in the hotel when we went to the show. Since Kendra had an idea it was coming, Sean felt like he had to propose where Kendra wouldn't know it was coming. The night before the photoshoot, Sean texted Amanda about planning to propose the next day. That day Sean took the ring out of the box because he knew Kendra would notice the box. He waited for the perfect moment and asked the question! Sean was very happy with the way things worked out!
